Over the past weekend, we successfully hosted clients, principals, customers and other key stakeholders at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, which was held at Sun City in South Africa. As part of our DP World Tour, the Nedbank Golf Challenge, a pinnacle event on South Africa’s sporting calendar, saw 66 players vying for the $6million prize over four days. Emerging victorious was Max Homa from the USA.
Our engagement went beyond the green, as we curated a session of our Smart Series – a DP World initiative dedicated to fostering insightful and engaging B2B conversations – that focused on Technology in Africa. Joining me as speakers at this session were former pro-golfer and SkySports presenter, Iona Stephen, who highlighted how technology is revolutionising player development and making golf more globally accessible, as well as artificial intelligence expert, Dr. Jacques Ludik, who shared insights on the future of business and artificial intelligence in Africa, including how businesses can leverage AI for growth and efficiency. I took the opportunity to highlight the critical role of technology in evolving both the game of golf and the supply chain industry. DP World’s focus on visibility, resilience, connectivity, and efficiency resonated with the audience, as well as our commitment to revolutionising global trade by enhancing supply chains through technology.
The DP World Tour is as a significant platform for fostering connections with our valued clients, principals, customers, and partners. This initiative aligns with our strategy of transforming into a connected port, marine, and logistics business that actively facilitates and enhances global trade.
